India had this to say on talks with Taliban, for Afghan peace

The speculations have been ongoing since quite some time but the India today denied that it is having any talks with the Taliban.

This pretty much puts all speculations to rest.

As per the Ministry of External Affairs, there are no such discussions with Taliban representatives planned in Moscow format meeting on Afghanistan.

The clarification, it need be mentioned, comes as the former Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah slammed the Centre for holding talks with the Taliban but not Kashmiri stakeholders.

Kumar further stated that India will be joining the Afghan process of reconciliation at a non-official level and Taliban will be in the same room as a part of the process.

India will support all efforts at peace and reconciliation in Afghanistan that will preserve unity and plurality of the nation.</>
